Miniature ScarecrowThese cornfield friends make great fall reading buddies! For each scarecrow you''ll need a single-size cereal box, a 3" Styrofoam ball, construction paper, two googly eyes, a craft stick, paint, yarn, glue, and scissors: Guide students through these steps:1. Stuff your empty box with paper and glue it closed. Paint and let dry.2. Poke one end of the craft stick into the Styrofoam ball. Paint yellow and let dry.3. Cut a slit in one end of the box. Insert the craft stick to attach scarecrow''s head.

5. Lay the head and body on a flat surface. Place the other square of tulle (still folded) on top of it so that the folded edge lines up with the base of the balloon. This will form the ghost''s arms. Connect the two pieces with fishing line, tied through both fabrics at two points near the base of the balloon. . To hang the ghost, tie fishing line to the top of the head and at a point partway along each arm.Halloween treeOrange lights, gnarled bare branches, and a flock of crows--this tree is both welcoming and ominous and is great for an entry. It can also be used inside as a party decoration.
